@davisgirl, What kind of classes do you think SDSU would prefer their students have taken in HS for eligibility for the nursing program?
@sdsunursing From the SDSU Admission Handbook, “Admission to nursing is a highly selective process. Freshman nursing applicants will be ranked by their GPA on college preparatory courses, SAT/ACT scores (see SAT/ACT information under Eligibility Index), and grades in high school intermediate algebra, biology and chemistry with a lab.”
So the grades in these 3 courses are taken into account along with the EI. There is a strict methodology to ranking applicants.
I got B+'s in Intermediate Algebra so I’m kind of worried now.
Does anyone know if SDSU will be converting old and new SAT scores, because looking at their website, they do not take this into account when calculating EI’s. From my understanding, the new scores are a little inflated. More can be read here: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/higher-ed-brief-sat-concordance.pdf

Hmm I think it’s safe to assume we’ll get decisions very soon, maybe this or next week? Also unsure what’s up with the changing application dates in the portal. Mine hasn’t changed so I’m hoping that’s not a bad thing? But it seems like the application dates are changing only for nursing majors, so I’m not sure.
@austinnb The date in my portal has been updated to 2/10, and I listed my major preference as political science. I think we shouldn’t worry until the end of the month (if possible…)
does anyone have any idea why the admission status date changed? i applied as a nursing major.
@abcdef282 No idea. What does yours say?
I called admission office and the person on the phone told me that the date changed because they had "re-evaluated my daughters application. Oh my goodness…
@lastofthree Did it sound like a good indicator or a bad one?
What does it mean to re-evaluate an application?
She was so vague with her answer. Probably not to make me anymore nervous for my daughter (too late). She did say that they re-evaluate all applicants and that they had over 83,000 applicants this year! My guess is that they organized them by majors as they re-evaluate them?? Finally, she told me that they are trying to get all decisions done by early to mid-March (vague).
@lastofthree do you think it means if we were re evaluated that we are still able to be accepted?

@Nurse2017 I asked that question as well and she basically repeated that all applicants are re-evaluated and once they are looked at, the date changes. I guess we just have to wait and see. My son attends SDSU as well (Business Major) and he received his acceptance last week of February (2015). I don’t really remember if the date status changed then or just he didn’t pay attention back then.
My admission status date hasn’t changed. Is that good or bad?
My friend’s portal, who also applied to Nursing, didn’t change.
Anyone a computer science major? Did you application date change? I’m kinda worried because mine hasn’t yet. Does this mean that they’re not going to re-evaluate my application? Confused…
@austinbb I think you’re fine. I feel like the re evaluation is for nursing students who got into the school but are now being reviewed to get into their program…
Honors College acceptance came for friend today.
