If I haven’t gotten my acceptance into the nursing program yet should I be expecting a denial? I have a gpa of 4.2 and EI of 4550. I’ve just seen a lot of nursing acceptances lately and was wondering if they send them all out at the same time, or if they’re still working on them.
@kjnatividad are you California or oos? Haven’t seen any oos yet
@futurenurse717 I’m from Central California
@futurenurse717: So far the lowest posted EI for a Nursing major acceptance has been 4322, so you look like a very competitive applicant. Hang in there and I am sure more acceptances are coming.
My D has an EI of 1090 and hasn’t heard anything either. She is in-state also. Anyone with a lower EI than that get in to nursing?
@negirl508: I saw a local SD nursing major applicant that got an acceptance with an EI of 1070, so there is hope.
@Gumbymom should I be expecting a denial to the journalism: Public relations major? Or is there any hope? I have a 3.6 GPA and a 3990 EI or 960 EI
do they send acceptances on the weekend or no? just wondering so i dont obsessively keep checking if its useless till monday lol
@kjnatividad I applied under Nursing as well and I am from the Central Cali too. I have also not heard back. I have an EL a few points lower than yours so i think its safe to say that not all admissions have been sent out. (:
@biobabe101 oh okay, that’s reassuring! I hope we both hear from them and get accepted soon, good luck!
@micky1120 going to have to wait till Monday from what I’ve heard
Thanks @Gumbymom! We will keep our fingers crossed. She has been accepted to other programs, but was hoping for SDSU.
Last year’s SDSU admission stats by major can be found here:
https://asir.sdsu.edu/Pages/applications-by-major.aspx
Still waiting to hear on my son’s application to the CS program.
To all applicants that have not heard::: The EI statistical data that I have collected so far, has shown that the EI thresholds for the majority of majors has been 4100+ for SAT and 1000+ for ACT. There has been some acceptances below these thresholds mainly from OOS and local SD applicants. Since CC posters are only a small group, the EI’s are not nearly representative of the acceptances received so far.
There is no reason to give up since for the last few years, acceptances have been posted from the 1st week in March through the end of March. EI thresholds will vary by major and by the competitiveness of each in-coming Freshman class. This has been proven if you follow SJSU’s published EI thresholds since some majors can vary as much 300 points (SAT) from year to year.
All I can say is that where you go for Undergrad will not define you but is what you do with the opportunities you are offered. Good luck
So which of you guys actually plan on attending?
@IneffableMind I just committed this week!
Well said @Gumbymom
@mnrwa778 Congrats, I’m still not sure if I’ll be going here or ucsb but I’m going to tour both campuses.

Chances for getting into SLO are very slim at this point, making SDSU much more likely. I toured the CoE with Mr. Donovan Geiger and he was an extremely enthusiastic and friendly guy. Everyone seems to be very involved at the engineering department. If I end up going, I’ll definitely love my stay! Go Aztecs
@norcalguy when were u accepted bro?
