Also admitted to: UCR, CSULB, CSUF
Waiting on: Temple, UCSD, UCSB, UCD, UCB

@Katecat27: If you got accepted to UCR with Regents and SDSU, and you cannot afford the schools, which schools on your list, can you afford? All the Cal states are roughly the same costs as are the UC’s, so where do you plan on going if accepted?

@gumbymom
Cal state Fullerton

Edit: CSUF is a more afforadble option bc I would be living at home

While applying I had a long talk with my parents about what we realistically could afford. They said UCs and Cals were affordable. Now I’ve come to find out they are not and I don’t want to dig myself into debt. I wouldn’t have applied had I known, but applications are already in so I can’t turn back now and I still like to participate in the fun of finding out where I got in:)

@Katecat27: Thanks for the clarification and sorry to hear that you are not able to afford the rest of the schools on your list. Do you qualify for any type of financial aid such as Cal grants/ Blue and Gold opportunity plan? These could help bring costs down for UCR if you include regents.

@Gumbymom
My family income is too high for that. Honestly, I believed my parents when they told me it was affordable because they make a fair amount. Unfortunately, they have made some poor economic choices so it is not within reach. I may get some money through MCS hopefully though. UCR would be attainable tuition wise with regents and the MCS because I have saved money form my own job for the past two years and could work through school, but I can’t afford to dorm and I live too far to commute. I can’t help but be a bit disappointed, but I’m doing my best to take this as a positive and educate myself on personal finance so that I can avoid the mistakes my parents made.

@Katecat27: You have a wonderful attitude about the whole situation. Good luck to you.

I don’t see it…

This is like 3 months late, but I made a mistake for GPA. I’m OOS so honor classes don’t count.
ACT: 25
CSU GPA: 3.38

Regular GPA (excluding freshman grades): 3.63
Regular GPA (with freshman grades): 3.544
Major: Accounting (hopefully

Freshman year was bad y’all.

Btws, financial aid office sent my package. SDSU looks affordable, but still waiting to hear back from 3 other schools. If all else fails, I’m gonna become an Aztec in May.

(hopefully I can change it to Marketing if I end up going)
