San Diego State or UC Santa Cruz

hi,
recently I got off Santa Cruz’s waitlist and can potentially major in Robotics (they don’t offer Mechanical Engineering). I committed to San Diego State as a Mechanical Engineer so the news about the UC acceptance really surprised (and even slightly upset me cause I could already envision myself going to SDSU) me. I don’t really know what I want to do in the future and have only 2 days to make a final decision. My parents think Santa Cruz is more prestigious, and once graduated I will make more money. I am pretty intimidated with electrical engineering and dislike computer science so Robotics just doesn’t seem right when compared to Mechanical Engineering, but again, as I said, I don’t really know what I want. My parents also convinced that Mechanical Engineer is a dying sphere and will be extremely hard to find a job and is probably not gonna be like I envision it. How difficult is it to transfer from UC to SDSU and vise versa? Can I do Mechanical and then once graduated move into robotics and how easy would it be given I (maybe) graduate from SDSU? What are my options? Would a grad school prefer one school over the other?
I am very confused and just don’t want to make the wrong decision and regretting my whole life I went to the wrong school, with the wrong major.
Thank you in advance

P.S. we have not had a chance to visit campuses because of Covid-19 so that kinda sucks
