I called and they said two more weeks end of the month and we will get an email either way for decision. She said they are behind.
Does anyone know what it means when their common data set says that their waitlist is ranked? like ranked in what sense?
SDSU’s waitlist is ranked by eligibility index and major if you are a Freshman.
^ thank you! I’m a pre-psychology freshman applicant. One more question haha, does a letter of continued interest help your chances of getting off the waitlist or moving up the ranks on the waitlist? I wrote a letter expressing my interest, why SDSU is my top school, why it would be perfect for me, and that I would be committed to attending if accepted, to the undergrad admissions office in early April, so I’m hoping it’ll carry some weight in terms of getting off the waitlist. Does anyone know if they look at these letters or if it could possibly carry any weight at all?
@shahaha: If you check the same common dataset, an applicant’s level of interest is not considered. By opting into the waitlist, you have shown your interest so an LOCI most likely will not make a difference. SDSU admits by EI and major so you are ranked based on this criteria and they accept from the top down until all spots are filled. All you can do at this point is hope there will be open spots available in your major but since SDSU has not accepted any applicants off the waitlist at this point, I would move on and get excited about the school you SIR’d to on May 1. If by chance you are accepted, it will be “icing on the cake”.
Has anyone heard any news? :S
Nope haven’t heard anything yet ugh… I’m starting to get really restless because SDSU is my only option besides my local cc! Good luck everyone !
I called today. They are trying to get decisions out soon. If not this week then next week. Those that appealed will then be considered if they don’t make it off the waitlist
If not this week next? I’m so confused. Don’t they technically have to give us a decision by June 1st? Are they going to wait until the very last day of may to send out decisions? I’m with you @cereallife55 this school is my last shot at attending a university in the Fall…
Still no change since I opted for waitlist in march . So frustrating!
@5nonnegotiables Sameee!!!
What does it mean to appeal?
@jonathan201095 Basically if you got denied and think the university should reconsider, you appeal. Send in a letter, updated transcripts…anything the university requires to appeal. Once received they will take a second look at your application and records. If they deny you again then that’s it you’re done, or you could be admitted. It never hurts to try, but usually you must submit your appeal within 2 weeks of your denial date
Cal Poly Slo had 1,200 more students this year accept attendance than yielded. I can’t tell if this is a good or bad sign for us since it seems good for our chances that so many people would choose to go to Slo since they most likely also got into SDSU but also a bad sign since they’re both pretty similar popularity wise.
Can someone call admissions and ask how much longer the wait is? I would call myself but it would be probably my 10th time and they must hate me by now lmao
I called this morning. They wanted decisions by midnight but they’re behind so it might be later
Got my decision just now… rejected says all the enrollment spaces have been filled
Got an email at 3:05 PM, I was rejected.
Got my email. Rejected. That’s twice now. 8-|
Got rejected. All spaces full.
