Well I live in California and I either want to go to a UC or SDSU, but I'm not sure what would be best for me.

The UC's I like are UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB
At UCLA and UCSB I would major in business economics, and at UCSD I would major in management science.

At SDSU I could major in finance or accounting and actually have a business degree.

My problem is I don't know if I want to get my mba so would it be best to go to SDSU?

I heard SDSU has connections in San Diego, which is where I want to live. So could a degree from SDSU land me a great job business?

Or could I get a good job from one of the UC's with a bus/econ major?

The UCs you mention are extremely competitive...stats?

My stats are better than UCSB's, and about the same as UCSD's, but with UCSD's points system I should get in. UCLA may be too much for me, but I believe I have a realistic shot.

So does anyone have the answers to my questions???

Also if you think UCLA would the best bet, can you also tell me what would be the best of the other 3 if I don't get in to UCLA???

the big key to landing a good job in business is internships. You could major in anything from anthro to zoology and get a good job if you've had internships to get a toehold in the working world and to show that you know something about what you're getting into. Vocational majors such as finance or accounting will get you jobs too, but you probably know that a psych or history major from an elite school (such as an ivy) often ends up working on wall street or in consulting because they figure they can train a smart & hard-working kid to do anything. And someone with internships and a decent school behind them (including sdsu) will do fine as well.

So major isn't that important compared to what YOU do in school unless you're looking for the vocational avenue like accounting. SDSU doesn't carry the same rep as the UC schools, although this won't have much of an impact once your career gets going. You should look at quality-of-life stuff; sdsu (and ucsd, for that matter) is primarily a commuter school and you'll have an entirely different college experience than at the others, especially ucsb. If you're ok with that and what to live in mission beach or PB, go for it. But remember you'll get to work the next 35+ years of your life, you go to college once. Give some thought to what you want that experience to be like.

Thanks for the advice....

UCSB is my favorite, but I was just making sure I would have the same opportunities there as SDSU in the business field.

I'm planning on getting rejected from UCLA so I hope to definately attend UCSB, but if I were to be rejected there aswell SDSU seems like a great fit for me.

Also does anyone know someone or is someone who graduated with a business economics degree and how they fared in the business world?

Or does anyone attend SDSU that could share some of their possibilities to find a job in San Diego?
