<p>Sfgov.org</a> | San Francisco Police Department: Duties, Salary and Benefits</p>

<p>Is this for real? 70-100k annually for a starting officer? I hear their salaries are going to increase 10% every year for the next 4 years as well. Plus, they have overtime pay to add onto that salary. </p>

<p>I'm just wondering what anyone thinks about this. When you factor in overtime pay and the number of hours worked, starting SFPD officers get paid more than investment bankers. Not bad for a job straight out of college.</p>

<p>I imagine you’d also need to live in SF in order to be a police officer there, so with adjustments for costs of living I don’t know how lucrative it is compared to other cities.</p>
