San Francisco Reception

Here' all I can say about the party school reputation. If you ome here to party you're up for a big disappointment. In no way UCSB's party is comparable to SDSU, Chico, or University of Texas. Trust me on this one, party is not that big here but only bigger than other UCs. My dorm is very close to DP, and the music ain't that loud on weekends. You hear students walking back to their dorms after the party and there's no stampede or anything like that... Just a few obnoxious loud drunks. On weekdays? Kinda quiet. You can always study in your room, study room in your building, lounge, etc.... You'll never run out of quiet places to study. You can also study at the beach too or go to the library. UCSB i not as wild as you think.

You'll get the impression when you visit the campus in April. Make sure to check out the Manzanita Village and head towards the ocean. But make sure to bring a bike with you!

How's the dorms? When I visited the campus, I thought the dorms were decent sized, but I hear from many people that many of the dorms are tiny.

BTW, is there a boardwalk or some kind of pier near SB? I tried finding it when I was there but had no luck.

Click the "Slideshow" link at the bttm right corner of the pic to see the room.

There's a boardwalk/pier on state st. which is about 10 min from ucsb by car.
