Does anyone know what a green check mark means when checking for application status on sfsu gateway? Is that a
good sign for admissions into the school?

Hey, I also applied to SFSU for Spring 2015 and have the green check mark under admission status. My major is Computer Science.
I called the admissions office and they told me I was conditionally admitted. They said I should be receiving an email
shortly regarding the next steps. They said conditional admission is a good thing. Have you heard anything from the admissions office ? What is your major ?

I had the same question. I have a green check mark but i don’t know what that means. I haven’t heard anything from the admission office regarding application.

Hey I eventually called admissions and they said I was also offered conditional admissions for spring 2015. They said they will send both e- mail and a letter. They should arrive sometime this week. I am a transfer student from Southern California majoring in theatre arts.

Ok cool. Once you receive your letter or email can you let us know by posting a comment. I will do the same as well. Thanks and congrats.

I am a spring 15 transfer as well. About two weeks ago I noticed the green check by my name.
I actually applied last year and got in, except last year I had an orange triangle for a while, then the green check.
This year, it was blank then just a green check.
I’ve been checking the mail, fingers crossed I’m in :)

I just checked again and now the green check mark is gone. Are your green check marks still there ???

Oh ■■■■ mine is gone too now…

Weird…these admissions people need to hurry up and give us definitive answer already…I can’t deal with these green check marks lol

Same hahaha… I have some important life decisions to make

Checked this morning. My green check mark is also done. Check your e-mail and snail mail for letters of offer for admissions. I suspect we will be receiving them soon. I am guessing sometime today or tomorrow or at the very least by the end of the week. I will keep you posted.

I’ll let you guys know when I get something from them. I live in Southern California too so hopefully it will arrive soon. Good luck everyone!

My green check also disappeared. Called the admissions office today and told me that I am still conditionally accepted and should be receiving the letter this week to next week.

Called today and they told me I’m still conditionally admitted as well, despite the now missing green check mark. The guy I spoke to refused to confirm if some type of notification would be either emailed or sent out this or next week. According to him, SFSU is, as he stated, “notoriously late when it comes to this type of stuff”…whatever. Anyhow, I’m in San Jose so I’m assuming I will get my mail notifications ahead of those from SoCal. Once I get something I will let everybody know up in here. Also, yesterday when I called them to get info on transcripts, the person I spoke to said they would notify us in about 4 more weeks…man.

I haven’t called them yet, I may tomorrow. This time around applying I was really nervous because I decided not to pursue the AAT. I just want to know for sure that I was admitted.
Last year when I applied I do remember them being one of the last schools to notify me… I thought it may be faster for spring transfers.
Also I never received an email saying I was admitted, I only got the packet in the mail then like 3 emails requesting to send my intent to register.

any of you guys been offered financial aid yet?

No, we can’t get financial aid until we accept our admissions offer. From my understanding we have from nov

Ah I see. Anyone got their acceptance letter yet?

okay, I’m not sure any of you are in the same situation, but I applied as a senior in high school to SFSU last fall, I was accepted in March, and I went to registration, was confirmed for housing and even met my roommate. In July I went on my portal to pay for my tuition, but noticed that my classes I was registered for, were no longer there. So I called admissions and they told me that my academic index (GPA & SAT scores) wasn’t high enough. This happened a little over a month before I was supposed to move in, so obviously I was pissed. I asked when they were going to tell me (since I called and found out) and they said they were sending a letter in the mail next week, I got the letter on July 18. This happened because they had just sat down to review transcripts of students they already accepted. I was living at home at this time in SoCal. I moved up into the Bay Area with family for a semester at community college and now I am reapplying for Spring 2015. I came on here at the same time everyone was worried about the check mark and mine is gone too… I have talked to admissions twice this week and they have given me different instructions. Does anyone know when the “conditional acceptance” will be come unconditional??? Sorry this is so long…

It’s conditional until they review your transcripts and verify your GPA/have the classes required to attend. This can take months. For us spring applicants that are current students, this semesters grades won’t be posted till late December/early January then we need to order our final transcripts and start sfsu in late January. Even then they can drop you if your grades from this semester aren’t up to par
