***san jose state 2022 admissions thread***

Sooo SJSU sent another email telling us the “phases” of the application process and they said they’ll start posting their decisions at the beginning of March, but how come some transfers already got their acceptances??

Hm, I haven’t gotten that email

Wow how is CAL POLY SLO rolling out ahead of SJSU? Crazy!

I didn’t get that email either…? :-??

Result: Not CSU Eligible

-I met all of the requirements according to my Cal State Apply A-G requirements except for English and Social Science (I just need to pass these two classes by the end of this semester). I emailed admissions about this a few minutes ago. I should be CSU eligible. I also asked if this means that I was rejected and I also asked if they will accept me under my alternate major. I’m hoping for the best!

*3.70

I don’t know what “not CSU eligible” means, but your academic work seems to be over the top so I hope that doesn’t mean you got rejected because that would be unfair considering you seem like a very good student from what you describe

@Rollercoasterkid2000

More than likely, SJSU has deemed you are missing a A-G requirement, in some cases high-schools change course names and cause A-G courses to not be recognized as meeting that requirement, when actually it does. If so, you will need to call the school (SJSU to confirm the class) and talk to your (high-school) guidance counselor and file with SJSU to change the outcome as a recognized A-G instead…Best of Luck

@Rollercoasterkid2000 If you look at the thread on here for SDSU, the exact same issue has arisen for several applicants. My D had a back and forth with Admissions for three days about whether she ever took a freshman English class, and it was ultimately the wording of the class that they had a problem with. Call SJSU back and don’t let them off the hook with this. The CSU app should be flexible enough to endure the differences in class names. It’s becoming ridiculous.

@Rollercoasterkid2000 We screwed up by not entering “IP” for In progress courses for my son’s Senior Year. I am not sure we saw a popup (It was done on an old version Safari) - and that is our story and we are sticking too it. My wife contacted each CSU he applied to. Sac State updated the application directly. Monterey, CSU Eastbay, and SF State recommended sending in midyear transcript to prove he was enrolled in or completed A-G required classes . Others recommended that he request his official transcripts to save the 3 week delay in initiating an Appeal. SJSU and Cal Poly both said to expect a rejection and were not very encouraging. So we requested official transcripts and dropped them in person at 4 locations. Sac State changed it online and we have spare transcripts ready for Appeal. It worked to some extent since he as been accepted at CSU Monterey Bay and SF State. The others are showing “decision pending” in their portals. (Note, we found out SF State does not communicate acceptance status via the portal.) I recommend that you mobilize and take a similar actions.

I’m a transfer student and just received my acceptance! Everyone check your portal

Transfer Student received my acceptance today!!! Not local.

Admitted by Self-Reported Data to the MIS major. I’m a local transfer student. IGETC completed, almost all major required courses completed, GPA 4.0.

Congrats to all the transfers! Hopefully we’ll be up next soon.

Did anyone else get the email from SJSU saying that they’re reviewing applications in the upcoming weeks and we’ll receive updates soon?

We’re so close guys!!

@vimold ya i got the email

same

@Rollercoasterkid2000 that is super frustrating! So sorry but yes like someone else said don’t let the matter go. How did they notify you of that…email or portal? Best of luck to you!!

@Calstates Yeah, they said that I was missing an A-G requirement and that’s why my application was withdrawn.I also forgot to mark my classes as in progress for my first semester courses for my senior year. I’m appealing however and not letting this go. Thanks for the help!
