Now I’m freaked out. What’s the difference between provisionally admitted and admitted by self reported data??
@LexieTaylor00: Both admissions are provisional meaning you need to meet the requirements such as completing all courses in progress with a C or higher grade and graduate HS. You are admitted regardless.
Provisional Admission (PR):
You have been admitted provisionally. You may continue to see an “Incomplete Status” symbol on your Student Center page as long as you owe final documents to complete your admission process. Check your “To Do List” at MySJSU instructions.
You also must meet the CSU requirements for eligibility for the class level to which you were admitted. This is true for all new and returning students
Automated Admission based on your self-reported application data - Freshman admit - not able to register (AAF)
You have been admitted based on self-reported information and are pending verification of:
-Minimum impaction threshold required for your major.
-College Preparatory subjects.
I’m a bit confused on the last point- what would happen if I didn’t meet the eligibility threshold for my major? And I still don’t understand why some have received provisional acceptances and some have self-reported data acceptances.
I am an international student and i sent a predicted score for my 10+2 final exams. If i am able to score around my predicted score, then my provisional admission status would convert to admitted.
P.S. My EI was around 4400.
@LexieTaylor00: You have been admitted into the University but they still need to verify the EI threshold for your major so you are not definitely accepted into your choice major.
I messaged the admissions office and was told I’d been accepted into my first choice major…should I call again? I’m so confused by this whole process.
@LexiTaylor00: If admissions stated you have been accepted into the major, maybe they just have to go through the motions of EI verification process for your major. If your EI is significantly higher than last years EI for your major, then it is probably just a formality.
@LexieTaylor00: All admissions at all schools are provisional and schools like the UC’s and CSU’s admit based on your self-reported grades. If there are any discrepancies between your self-report application and your final transcript, then there is a chance your acceptances could be rescinded. The schools are basically saying that as long as everything matches up, you are admitted.
Anyone knows when are transfer applicants expected to hear a decision?
CSU GPA 3.5
SAT: 1220
EI: 4020
Major: Marketing
Status is still Decision Pending
Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could get help with some possible mistakes on my csu app?
On the highschool coursework section, there were classes where I switched my fall and spring semester grades (the highest grade being listed first) This was in response to reading the cal state apply coursework entry guide saying “If your grades are listed as BA, CB, or DC, you must list them as AB, BC, and CD in order for the system to recognize them” So my interpretation was that I had to enter my highest grade in the fall and my lowest grade in the spring and of course this means the grades I entered isn’t going to exactly match my transcript. Since some classes are only switched however, my GPA is still the same, but I’m freaking out at the idea that this ruins my chances of being let into the animation program here at San Jose.
Should I be worried?
@AliF22: I would send admissions an email about the mistake. Make sure they acknowledge your email and keep the documentation just in case there is an issue later on.
Thank you!
3.6 W and a 1420 SAT… software engineering. Still decision pending for a friend. Chances?
@snapealways123 what were your stats?
They’ve released decisions???
CSULB released decisions today… I can’t wait anymore!!
is there high impaction for business majors?
Depends on which specific business major you’re talking about. Here are last year’s thresholds: http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultsfreshmen/F2018.html
Took an L on CSULB, SJSU is my first choice but the rejection from LB is making more nervous
