San Jose State Majors

How easy is it to get accepted into San Jose with a non-impacted major? (given you have a decent gpa and an okay SAT score)

It looks like some majors at SJSU required only the CSU baseline eligibility index of 2900 (with SAT) or 694 (with ACT) for admission for California residents for fall 2015:

Of course, thresholds may change next year.

Calculate your CSU eligibility index using the method described at:

my EI is 3628. So is San Jose as easy as some CSU’s to get into depending on the major you choose? Like its Animation is 4000+ (The same EI you need for very competitive CSU’s like cal poly slo & and SDSU)

Yes, it depends on which majors are popular relative to their capacity.

Historical thresholds are linked from here:

For SDSU, you want an EI of 4100 to be competitive. Again depending upon major this will be higher or lower but overall SDSU is a much tougher admit than SJSU (exceptions: Nursing/CS)

Cal Poly SLO does not use EI, but an MCA point system. Check this link for more information: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/1694769-confused-about-mca-score.html
