San Jose State University: I got a D second semester senior year.

Hey guys, so I started off my second semester very roughly with an F in AP Economics, but I tried to make a comeback in February. I’ve already graduated and talked with my teacher and my teacher told me that I was off only by a few points to get a C in the class, but was not allowed to make any changes in the gradebook because it’s already too late in the year to do so. She told me that if I were to ace my finals and make up any missing work, that would give me a chance to do so, but it only brought me up to a D in the class.
I was planning on going to SJSU, but I really don’t know if I can get in at this point because of the D. I passed all of my other classes with A’s and B’s with only 1 C this semester, except for the D in AP Econ. What should I do? I was thinking of contacting the school about the problem, but I really don’t want to screw this up and I also want to know if they would accept the idea that a D in AP Econ would be the same as getting a C in regular Econ.

You need to talk to admissions. Call them tomorrow. SJSU policy requires you to complete each A-G class with a grade of C- or higher, and that includes AP courses. But only they can give you the final word.

You need to contact them now rather than later. They may be willing to work something out without rescinding your acceptance. Better to be proactive now than wait until SJSU sees your transcript in July when there may be no options available.

Hello I’m on the same boat as you, did you contact SJSU? If so what did they say?
