You’re not going to be able to get such specific stuff here.

As a community college student – currently in my last semester – I can say this about the California community college system: It’s probably the best education you can get, and that’s not even considering price.

I go to MiraCosta College, in North County San Diego – the services they provide are ridiculous, and they’re not going broke like a bunch of other community colleges. The teachers are paid really, really well, so the morale and competition are high, meaning you get the best of the best. (Note: MCC’s pay rate is among the top 100 or something like that in the country – including prestigious schools such as Stanford, Yale, UCLA, etc.)

I don’t know anything about SBCC, though.

What is the theater situation at SBCC? It looks like a lot of older people in the pix?

SBCC is right on the beach in Santa Barbara. I don’t go there, but I’ve been to the campus, and it’s gorgeous. The party scene is hoppin’ in downtown Santa Barbara, but if you are serious about transferring to UCSB, think long and hard before you center your life around parties. I’m not saying, don’t party, but all in moderation.

Also, are you a CA resident? If not, work here for a year and establish domicile in the State of California to get resident status. Otherwise, you will be paying up the wazoo for a CC.
