Has anyone been studying at SBCC? I have been thinking to start out my U.S college experience there. Does it have quality education, nice & smart people, easy to transfer to UC? Or is it just endless parties?

You should ask people on the UCSB board.

I live near sbcc and have taken a few classes there. I'm in high school right now. From what I understand it's pretty easy to transfer to UCSB after 2 years at city-college. It depends what you consider smart, but I think most of the students there are not. This is somewhat irrelevant but I did notice there are a fair amount of Japanese students studying at sbcc. It's probably the best location of any city college campus. It is literally hanging over the ocean. It's amazing, however I'd imagine the rent is somewhat higher than other campuses. I have a feeling that the partying and intelligence level of the students will be similar at any california city college.

Anyone else have experiences from SBCC?

SBCC is a great school. The campus is beautiful, the classes are small and challenging, and its priced affordably. Lots of people go there from outside the area because they didn't get into ucsb. my friend with a 3.6 gpa and 30 ACT went there, so its not all dumb people. If you are going to go to a junior college, this is the place to go. You will probably want to live in Isla Vista with all the ucsb kids, and party tons there.
