I doubt it because I live really close to Santa Clara and I didn’t get anything. The people in my school who got in last year saw it on the portal days before they got a physical letter, so I’m skeptical of this person saying they got the letter first

@vipacess Sent!

@ciaramarie do you want the pic of the acceptance letter?

LOL yeah i got in today by a letter in the mail too!

Letter came first, still don’t have email, haven’t looked on portal cause it wasn’t a wealth of information before this. Cool it came on 12.13.14! I like the ol’ fashioned mailbox way, more unexpected, we had no idea it would be in there. Also why it can be good to stay off cc, cause then expectations get set, sometimes way too early and it makes ya nuts.

The frustrating part is that we have to wait till Monday to find out because they don’t deliver mail on Sunday!! I bet they’ll put it up on ecampus on Monday tho 2mw would be nice.

@patrisha727 I believe you–so jealous! It’s really frustrating because I want to know! Is everyone who got letters engineering?

I’m so nervous I live in the Bay Area and haven’t gotten anything…

Suggest a bit of patience as to snail mail … these letters are fighting all the Christmas mail at the Post Office I assume!

I just logged into my son’s ecampus for scu to check status to see if they had updated admission decisions and there is nothing at all listed for status. previously it had said something like under review or processing. it only has his name

Guysss I applied to SCU Early Action from India. How long do you think it will take for my letter to come? I’m so scared

As RMKA2013 mentioned, the letters are in the mail and are just beginning to come in. It is hard to wait but you will all hear next week as will my son. Try to relax and enjoy this day as best you can. May I offer a little bit of motherly advice? My daughter did not get into her reach school this time 3 years ago - she was deferred. In the spring she had a number of nice choices and ended up at a college that she absolutely loves and I am so excited because she is flying home for Christmas break today. I wish all of you good luck with SCU admissions this week. Many of you will be admitted. For those of you that are deferred or rejected, please try to remember my daughter’s story which happens all the time and things do work out. Now, go have a cup of hot chocolate, watch cartoons and play in the snow - if you have some!

Ditto to avarose … same story for our daughter two years ago. Deferred at Barnard ED but got in to NYU’s Tisch School and she wouldn’t have been able to consider if she had been accepted … she is REALLY happy. Also got a number of nice offers in the meantime as well.

just spoke to my daughter who has some experience with college admissions dept - she says they send the letters in waves so that they arrive at aprrox. the same time and that it is an imperfect science. This is why they sometimes arrive on different days

Just got the letter in the mail
Accepted!
Major: Economics (Leavey School of Business)
GPA: 3.86

Good luck to everyone else!

Thank you @avarose for that motherly advice! It definitely helped calm my nerves, and I am sure it will help anyone else. Ah, patience is a virtue… ;)

@Erlidan2 how did you get in when no post on Sundays??? Or was it yesterday

@patrisha727 @Erlidan2 Congratulations to both of you!!! Still anxiously waiting here. Was the letter standard size or a large envelope? Also, did you receive emails as well and did your eportals change at all?

Thank you so much @Homer101 ! It was a large envelope labeled with “Congratulations Class of 2019 and Transfers!” so you would already know if you got in without even opening it (if the size of the envelope wasn’t already an indicator)

And no my eportal hadn’t changed

@ciaramarie I forgot to check the mail yesterday and checked this morning thats why. And thanks @Homer101 good luck to all of you!
