Santa Clara easy to get into?

Is it? Does being Catholic increase your chances at all? I;m OOS. 3.0 gpa at Catholic school.

Also, how many years of a language is required?

There are alot of catholic students who get in, but just as many, maybe, non catholics who get in. Does your school send students to SCU annually? I mean have kids at your school gone there before? I think what helps is a strong academic record, good ec's and solid SAT scores. They do take 3.0's, but probably with SAT's in the 1300(old score method). I strongly encourage you to go to the SCU web site and search Common Data Set for 2005 admitted students. It will give you a better idea of what stats they look for. I don't think you have to take tons of ap's or honors but you should take courses that challenge you.

My son got in(non catholic, rigerous public high school, ranked 5th or, higher in Calif) and his stats were good but not stellar. 3.3 weighted, SAT 740 CR, 700 math. Subject tests were as high too. EC's pretty good, Took honors english 3 years, AP english and other AP's(Stats, History, psych).
Just focus on doing your best and the rest will follow.

To put it in perspective....

i live in SC, and last year, SCU accepted 65 kids from my school from a class of 370

at my school, i live in santa clara too, every1 that applied got in.
