Santa Clara or Boston U?

I'm trying to decide between Santa Clara University and Boston University--i'll probably do business/economics/management and maybe International Relations as well.

which college would you pick?

Boston University

What kind of environment do you want? A large school spread about a large city? Or a smaller school and a more laid back lifestyle?

BU isn't really spread "about" a city. It's sort of compact, in a long, thin, stretched-out-along-one-street sort of way. But it is a stark choice between intense New England urban and peaceful Northern California suburban. Quite a difference in the religious and georgraphic orientation of the students, too.

Well....DS goes to BU and it's the perfect choice for him. DD will likely go to SCU and it's the perfect choice for her. DS wanted an urban environment, public transportation, cultural and arts opportunities and four seasons including SNOW. DD wanted a smaller school, accessibility to a city or town, a more "suburban campus" feel to the school, and WARM weather...no snow. I can't think of two schools that have more of a contrast in character. I will say, SCU's business school is supposed to be quite good. Boston, however, is one terrific "college town".
