Hi,

How hard is it to get into the different schools of Santa Clara? I was recently rejected from Cal Poly, and when I called them, they mentioned that from my major - biochemistry - only 48 out of 700-800 applicants were accepted - which is ridiculously low. For Santa Clara I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences...is it basically the same story as Cal Poly or is Santa Clara consistent across the schools? I have a 3.64 UW/3.81 W GPA and an 1810 SAT.

Cal Poly is much harder to get into than SCU, expecially this year, with the state budget crisis and cutbacks.

I would say your stats look pretty good for SCU. I believe engineering and business are harder to get into than arts and sciences.

Engineering and business are harder to get admitted to. BUT it is very possible to transfer into engineering (maybe business too…I only know about engineering because DD did this) from arts and sciences once you get there. DD was accepted to SCU as an undeclared arts and sciences major EA in Fall 2005. She will get her engineering degree in June.
