Santa Clara transfer

Hey, I'm reading this [url=http://www.scu.edu/ugrad/apply/transfer/requirements/deanza.cfm]Undergraduate Admission - De Anza College/url
and it says it has several required courses for admission - are these pre-reqs like any other school or are they actually required? (I've never heard of a course being required, as opposed to recommended for admission) I was not able to get into ANY Math 1B course due to the excessive waitlists and vast number of students trying to get in. Besides that I have all of the "required courses" completed. If I'm missing 1 out of those "pre-reqs" with a good GPA, will I still get denied?

And I posted in the UC transfer forum because imo many people outside CA won't know about SCU :P

Thanks!

you should email them about this because they probably handle admissions differently than UCs

I applied to transfer this year and was unable to get a math requirement as well, although I did fulfill all the others. When I asked the SCU Admissions about this over the phone, they said that it was not a huge problem. It may put me at a slight disadvantage, but they said it most definitely would not rule me out.

Woah old thread :stuck_out_tongue:
De Anza ended up adding two more math 1B classes so I got in one of them (after getting denied 3 times :X )
They also said they did not receive my professor recc and I contacted my professor and he hasnt responded yet lol. Hopefully everything works out and wait for admission! gl tobi
