Ours said that they had 3,832 Early Action applicants, a 26% increase over last year. They said that in recent years, 33% of students who elected to be deferred were eventually offered admission.

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc:
Congrats to everyone else who got accepted!

Daughter deferred. W-3.75 SAT-1750. Received the same statistics in the letter. 33% acceptance rate after being deferred doesn’t sound like good odds. Disappointed.

33% IS better than Georgetown’s 8% and Yale’s 5%

Ok, now that you put the acceptance rate after deferred into perspective, I think 33% may still give her a chance at acceptance. SCU is her first choice.

My son received an offer of an SCU incentive grant. Anybody else?

Congratulations to all who were accepted. It’s a great school!!

I received the SCU Dean’s Scholarship ($11,700 altogether) along with federal loans (totaling about $8,000) . Overall, for the 2011-2012 year, I will receive $19,700 from SCU.
 I think that’s pretty good.

A friend’s daughter got a “pending” letter and was asked to reapply. Does anyone know exactly what this means, and what SCU might be looking for? Thanks!

i also received the SCU incentive grant
