Santa Clara University offers both Early Decision and Early Action for freshman admissions.

The Early Decision (ED) deadline for Fall 2022 admission is November 1.

The Early Decision II (ED) deadline for Fall 2022 admission is January 7.

All ED1 applications should receive an admissions decision by December 31. All ED2 applications should receive an admissions decision by March 15. Last year, Santa Clara University admitted 307 of the 453 applicants who applied early decision. The acceptance rate was 67.77%.

The Early Action (EA) deadline for Fall 2022 admission at Santa Clara University is November 1.

Why was the ED admit rate for SCU last year 69%, but the EA rate was 71%? doesn’t that mean there’s no tangible advantage to applying ED to SCU?

The EA rate listed above was 61%. There are also differences in student profile from EA to ED. For example, a 4.0 student wouldn’t be as likely to apply ED as they would EA.

Anyone know when ED decisions might come out? I read that it’s been around the 10th or 11th of December in the past. My son is waiting on pins and needles!

Anybody guess what “soon” means? I saw that some folks said by the 23rd but hoping it is sooner than that date.

I think they sent that same email out last year about a week before decisions came out. We should hear any day now I would think. I found the dates admissions were released the past few years on another thread. Not sure if they are accurate or not…

Correction: Decisions came out on Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 2020.

So the majority of the results all came out on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Maybe we will hear something tomorrow :slight_smile:

Is there any chance decisions could come today? Have they ever just shown up, or do they always give some sort of warning a day or two before?

Also what time/time zone do they normally release?

I think most decisions usually come out around 5pm PST. But my son has no portal changes, so I’m thinking maybe not today.

Are there always portal changes before decisions are reported?

Does SCU ever just release the results without a warning? Or do they usually send out an email the day of or the day before that says something like: “tomorrow at 4pm results will be posted.”
