If I were you I’d be pragmatic. This will be your home for the next 4 years. Where would you rather live? If cost isn’t a factor, consider weather, location, size of school. I know nothing about Rutgers CS program, but if you are looking at job prospects after graduating, it would be hard not to get an offer after an internship in SV. I can’t speak for the CS program alone, but the COEN graduates are well known among SV tech companies, and they do a lot of recruiting from SCU. The School of Engineering churns out very talented CS and E graduates; their Senior Design projects are truly amazing and the professors are accessible. They can opt to take classes in the CS dept, albeit not mandatory. Of course you’ll have to put in a lot of hard work - as with everything in life, but worth it imo. Someone mentioned the dorms. I agree, SCU’s dorms are huge! Very nice, very comfortable. The campus is immaculate and a short distance from SJC. Good luck with your decision.
Disclaimer: I don’t work for SCU, just really love the school.
