My D23 has been named a finalist for the Santa Clara University Johnson Scholarship. Does anyone know how many finalists participate and if she’s not selected, will she likely qualify for lesser scholarship? Only 5 people actually are admitted to the program. Per the website, all of the other scholarships are awarded at time of admission.

I am sorry to be responding so late. My DD was a finalist last year also. We were hoping for more as well but no, she was not offered any more merit despite getting a relatively small initial package (not 1/2 or full tuition) and being a finalist. It didn’t make sense to me that a student could make it that far but lots of other students were awarded more merit initially.
