santa clara

Anyone else applying to santa clara?

i'm applying as a sophomore transfer. i'm finishing my first freshman semester now at john jay college of criminal justice in new york. i expect to have a 4.0 or 3.8 at the end of the semester, but i had a 3.27 in high school, and a 1280 on my SATs. do you think this is good enough to get into scu?

yeah.. santa clara isn't very hard to get into. At my high school- santa clara is like the ultimate safety. i think you'll get in

I applied to Santa Clara. It has a beautiful campus, gorgeous girls, great academics, close to Santa Cruz (beaches) and many other pros. I love SCU.

maine, what kind of scores, grades, etc. did you apply with?

Below are the scores I had when I applied. However, I think the average is lower.

GPA: 3.725 (Unweighted)
SAT Math: 720
SAT Verbal: 630
ACT: 28 (35 in Math)
AP courses (all in progress): Claculus, Statitics, English

Yay! more people are applying. did you do ea? I live near SCU- if you have any ?s about the school/area around it feel free to ask me.

Yeah I applied early
idontknow- di u apply early also?

I also did ea. I want my letter to come soon! What major did you choose?

I chose economics in the Leavy School of Business

Speaking of business, does anybody know how good the Leavey School of Business is? I missed the deadline for EA, but I guess I was lucky and they still reviewed me as an EA applicant. I got my decision today and I guess I just wanted more information on SCU's reputation and graduate school placement. Thanks to anyone who replies!

Ok, so I know that the letter says we will be notified of the dollar value of the Dean's Scholar award in mid-January, but does anybody know roughly how much it is?? Thanks!

the Dean's scholarships are either $6000, $8000, or $10000 (according to the website)

rovee what were your scores etc?

i applied RD to SCU too! SAT 1240, GPA UW 3.6/4.0, GPA W 5.4/6.9 Two APs and I am from NJ...GOOD LUCK EVERY1! :)

yea i got in - who got a scholarship though?

my stats were ok: 4.0 GPA, class president, bball, volunteer @ church and hospital; nothing extraordinary. my act scores were a lot better than my sat scores so i sent only those... 32 act vs 1320 sat. Thanks for the info on the scholarship.. I couldn't find it anywhere on the website, so I appreciate it! So yeah, does anybody know anything about LSoB?? Thanks!

From what I've heard the Leavey School of Business is very respected and one of the best in the west. Also I think the LSoB is the school SCU is best known for. For those of you admitted, who will attend?

cool, thanks maine. is SCU where you want to go? i'm sort of torn between a couple of schools, but its good to hear that LSoB has a good rep. do you know which program LSoB is particularly good at?

im applying to SCU......3.6 GPA, 1230 SATs, lot of ECs, good recs, do u think my chances are good? does anyone know their average stats?
