i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about santa clara university? i got a pretty decent scholarship there so deff. thinking about it, i got waitlisted at all my 'top choice' schools so now i'm not really sure waht to do. where would you pick based on academics (i want to study international relations/buisness), social life (my main concern about santa clara is that it isnt as good a school and that itd be too religious and uptight, nothing to do ever etc.)

-santa clara, nyu, gw, lehigh, mcgill, villanova, umd.

thanks everyone!

Hey! Okay so... I got into Santa Clara, but am not really even considering it. I have a good friend who is going there now and another who is on his way next year. It is seriously a REALLY great school but not as good as gw or nyu. You will not have the reputation or prestige that you would if you attended nyu for example but if that doesn't matter to you, don't sweat it. I visited Santa Clara earlier this year (I'm from the area) and it's beautiful, friendly, has an awesome social life, not uptight at all, great facilities, great sports (especially basketball) etc. It's a GREAT school that will give you a GREAT education but it simply doesn't compete with other schools on a reputation basis. (I got an amazing scholarship to, 45 K WOW) I almost wish I didn't get in anywhere else so it wouldn't be so easy to turn down!

thanks for the responce. just wondering, do you know if its real religious? and also, whats the town around it like? thank you!!

okay well the town around it is OKAY. not that great, but it's really nearby San Jose, Sunnyvale, pretty close to San Francisco, Santa Cruz (the beach!) Palo Alto (where I live and where Stanford is...good college town) and there are a lot of other nearby venues. About religious stuff.... that's what I was worried about but I really don't think it's very much of an issue. The most they will due is require you to take a few courses on whatever religion you want (buddhism, christianity etc) which is interesting anyways. I have a lot of friends that go there and I don't think any of them are catholic. It is obviously more religious than the typical school, but it's not overwelming.

I am considering Santa Clara and actually going up this week for my last visit, but I definitely wouldn't be concerned about the religious requirements, or pressure. I noticed that it isn't a very big deal and you can make it whatever you want it to be-only 49% of the student body is Catholic. They offer so many different types of religious studies classes too which I think is great.
