Santa Clara

Hello I'm attempting to transfer to Santa Clara for fall '07 as a sophomore and I was wondering if anyone knows how good this looks. I usually wouldn't be nervous about this because I had already been accepted last year with a pretty big scholarship, but they over enrolled this year and forced them to close transferring for winter 07 quarters so there's limited space and it's also becoming a more respected university.

I'm in the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University and as I said I was already accepted before. I went to a Jesuit high school (and SCU is also Jesuit) and I'm hoping to use the fact that I'm in the honors college and my highschool test scores and GPA to help me be accepted. I'm pretty worried because it took me a while to get adjusted to the giant lectures at ASU with 400 kids and I could end up with about a 3.2 or 3.3 GPA which I know isn't great by highschool standards...but what about transfering standards? I know my application will be excellent as well as recomendations. My highschool GPA was a 3.7 with a 1910 on the SATs with tons of community service.

Sorry this is a long post but there's alot on my mind

You're in...I'm almost absolutely positive. :)

Good luck. My S was accepted as a transfer after having been accepted as a freshman with decent merit $$. He wasn't offered any merit $$ as a transfer, though.

He chose to go elsewhere, so I don't know if he could have "negotiated" that.

He had a 3.67 from a top 25 LAC and 1320 old SATs.

I certainly think you have great chances. Good luck.
