Okay so I needed to write an appeal letter for my school, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions, or opinions. I'm in desperate need of honest help, please & thank you!

I would like to start off by conveying my gratitude for considering this letter of appeal. I am hoping that, with the attached paperwork and this letter, my financial aid from the ********* Act will be reinstated.

The beginning of my college career was extremely overwhelming. So much so that a mental health issue peaked, more specifically depression. I had absolutely no motivation, I was unable to eat, sleep, laugh and at time get out of bed, much less study and attend classes. For a while I was too embarrassed to ask for help, I wasnt comfortable letting anyone truly know about what I was going through. My grades suffered, as did my self-esteem. My family could tell something was wrong, but I wasnt ready to admit my troubles. After months of what I call my mental fog, I agreed to see a therapist.

I have been attending therapy sessions for over a year and a half now; I'm on the proper medication that has helped me to overcome an inability to cope with the stresses of life. As requested by my doctor I am in the process of getting tested for any learning disabilities that may have contributed to my poor academic career thus far. I am also creating an academic plan with my advisors, in addition to a schedule specifically setting aside a significant amount of homework and study time. By being completely open with my parents, therapist, advisors and professors, there is no doubt in my mind that the rest of my education at **** nothing less than a great success. In an effort to ease your minds, I will utilize the ***** ****** Center for Student Success, communicate with professors via email and during their office hours in an attempt to ensure my understanding of the material, as well as attend as many SI sessions as I am able to. Id like to take this time to say that I have simplified my course schedule so I can prove that I am now in a fortified state of wellbeing.

Again I want to thank you for you consideration of my appeal. With the support of my parents, therapist, and the abundance of resources **** has to offer, I am more confident and motivated to work hard. Given a second chance I know I can achieve success.

Sincerely,
Marissa *******
