My name is __ and I am writing to ask you to appeal my suspension of financial aid. I am appealing my ineligibility for financial aid because of the unexpected circumstances which resulted in me failing classes. In fall 2012, my sister started attending . _was a private university which brought a large burden on my single parent father. In order to lessen that burden, I started working at General Nutrition Center for more than 20 hours per week. Due to my sister being away, I also was responsible for all the housework addition to the work and the school. This gradually led to a procrastinating over school, skipping classes from time to time, and worst of all it led to a loss of focus and dedication. As a result, I failed to maintain satisfactory academic performance. I will also frankly admit that part of my failure to meet the SAP standards was due to me losing the passion that I had when I first attended . My passion was was to graduate _, attend pharmacy school in _, and to become a pharmacist. However, as the years went on, I’ve started to forget my responsibility as a college student especially with the added stress. However, upon receiving my grade on Fall 2012, I realized I’ve been making a biggest mistake in my life. I’ve realized that at this point of my life, nothing is more important than education. Thus, I have resigned from the part time job in February 2013 and paid my full attention school. Although I wasn’t able to take biology classes due to the fact that the class that I needed to take was only available in fall semesters, I took other classes that were required for graduation. I’ve also found many resources that I could reach for when I’m in need of help. As a result, my GPA has gone up to 3.2 and I guarantee it will continue to go up.

Now that I know what my priorities are, I am more motivated and feel confident about my academic path. I plan to visit my advisor every semester to discuss further academic plan that will guarantee my success. During spring 2013 semester I have found various campus resources that were available to me. Whenever I had/have trouble with understanding new concepts in the future, I know I have Online Learning Center, Learning Emporium, and the Learning Assistance Center for various levels of math and science courses. With goals, motivation, and resources available for my use, I can assure my future success at ___. Given the chance I will prove that I can not only meet the SAP requirements but can exceed them and I sincerely hope the chance is given.
