SAP Warning not evaluated until final summer grades posted, how's this work?

Went to school years and years ago, and ended up dropping out. Didn't withdrawal, just stopped going.

Years later, I decide to go back, but my GPA is really messed up because of that previous stint.

Here's the big problem. I had never got financial aid before, so applied this time. I am eligible for some loans and grant, however my GPA is so low that I am automatically on SAP warning. But it starts off each semester.

Meaning that I will be on SAP warning for fall semester, which should still allow me to get financial aid once while on the warning, however, financial aid won't be given until it is verified I took no summer classes, which means that they have to wait until final summer grades are posted.

I think this means that my financial aid will be extremely late, and I may have to pay out of pocket. Has anyone had this experience before? Can your financial aid be so late due to circumstances like this, that they just won't offer you a package?

Yes, your financial aid office can do what it is doing.

You will need to talk to them to find out how your school works in a case like yours. Where I used to work, students were not withdrawn from classes for failure to pay their bill. However, I know schools where failure to pay by a certain date means the student is withdrawn from classes … but I am guessing there is some sort of safety net for students who have financial aid in progress … and if so, the student would be responsible for finding out what must be done to make sure everything goes smoothly (and stay on top of the situation to make sure it all DOES go smoothly).
