Hey, guys, I’ll get right to the point. So I recently got accepted as a transfer student to my top school, Sarah lawrence, for theater. I love everything I’ve heard about the school academically and campus wise, my only worry is this: overwhelmingly, the stereotypes I’ve heard about sl seem to be that it is an extremely liberal environment. I consider myself to be quite liberal, and I come from the northeast. I’m just worried based on what I’ve heard and what people are posting about themselves in the group that it might be a place where people who aren’t extremely liberal might be shouted down or feel like they can’t express their opinions, which I am very against. Any advice?
I get the impression that students at SLC aren’t very political (although the vast majority are liberal). If you are looking for diversity of viewpoints at SLC you will probably have to go looking for it.
The 3 kids, admittedly not a huge sample, that I know who go or have gone to SLC have all been personally and socially liberal but not particularly opinionated or politically active.
