Sarah Palin thinks only small towns are pro-America

Palin Clarifies Her 'Pro-America Areas' Remark | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

C'mon, we all know what "small towns" really means: homogeneously white and Christian with a complete lack of interest for anything beyond one's immediate borders. It's pretty clear what Sarah Palin's idealized vision of America looks like, and what (or more accurately, who) it doesn't include. Sarah Palin is not merely incompetent or uninformed; now, I believe she's genuinely not a good person, and somebody who turns her own willful ignorance into resentment and hate, all of which is masked by well-practiced forced smiles and winks.

Poor John McCain. He seems like Abraham Lincoln when compared to her. He deserves better than to have his once-honourable name sullied down by this Palin blight.

beautifully stated nbachris…

lets hope the war in Iraq and the economic crisis has truly awakened Americans so they are not simply mesmerized by the forced smiles and winks that are her signature strengths. Lets hope americans are in enough pain to look past the mask and really “get” how divisive, narcissistic and power hungry Palin is. and how McCain’s ego and need to have a victory in Iraq, (if he couldn’t in Vietnam) would put the country at further risk.

America’s capital isn’t pro-America.

The above is what Sarah Palin actually believes.

Personally, I think there are American places and unAmerican places.

It ain’t right what they’re doing up in Minnesota, looking like they’re about to elect Al Franken. AL FRANKEN!!!

San Franciso, places that have open orgies. Not my thing.

Your title is wrong, that’s not what she said. Her meaning is clear, a lot of places in America have lost their work ethic, giving way to entitlement, spewing vitrolic hatred of the military that defends them, losing the basic traditions that make this country what it is :)

I dunno about losing their work ethic. I mean everybody needs to work to survive. To what are you actually referring? Just the hippies you see? They are highly, HIGHLY visible but there aren’t really that many of them.

No not hippies, I mean the people that bemoan the horrors of labor, when the people before us worked harder, and had less. On top of that, they want fat entitlement checks, they want free services, that’s the kind of mentality that I’m talking about.

I mean, so our wages are flat. But we get more per buck with advanced technology. Yet people are ready to throw away the keys of the Presidency to Senator Government.

Been to Best Buy, Sam’s or Costco lately? For $799, you can now buy a 42-inch, high-definition flat-panel TV that will knock your socks off. Throw in another $200, and you can get a surround-sound system to truly transform your den into a home theater. A top-of-the-line PC with more memory than you’ll ever use now costs $1,000; high-end laptops with all the bells and whistles go for $1,200, down from $2,000-$4,000 five years ago. And giant leaps in handheld devices, such as Apple’s new iPhone, have revolutionized the way people interact with the world.

Guess what Palin, the majority of Americans don’t come from small towns. They don’t support this war. And at this point, also don’t support the republicans.

Let’s see, what else is pro-American? Considering this country is founded upon freedom of religion and seperation of church and state, it’s also quite pro-American to seperate political views from religious views. This country can’t be run based on it’s leader’s religion.

I respected McCain quite highly until he chose her. How can he talk about Obama’s lack of experiance when he picked this woman? I will be truly frightened for this country if McCain is elected. Not for his leadership skills, but for his health. Sarah Palin. What a joke.

And pugfug, don’t bash San Francisco for orgies. At this country’s birth rate, sex is overwhelmingly pro-American. :)

^^^^^

hahahaha

I guess none of the victims of 9/11 were pro-Americans since they lived in New York City and probably read that left-wing tabloid the New York Times.

Sarah Palin reads the New York Times ([Palin: Obama Is ‘Palling Around With Terrorists’ - The Caucus Blog - NYTimes.com](Palin: Obama Is 'Palling Around With Terrorists' - The New York Times)) and drinks Starbucks.
Pug -

I’ve lived in Red America and I’ve lived in Blue America.

Outside of ghettos ravaged by economic holocaust and usually the target of black-and-white conservative world views, Blue America tends to work long hours and work really hard to get educated and pay off massive debt because of it. I cite New York City, Washington, DC, Chicago, LA, Seattle… These deeply blue areas are our nation’s economic engines.

I’ve never seen people in small cities or towns where I’ve personally lived and who tend to be conservative put in long days or work weekends the same as I’ve seen in the cosmopolitan cities.

I’m not saying that’s bad at all - more family time and recreational time is fine. I’m just saying that your naive view right out of 1968 of “liberals” and “work ethic” plays right into the fear mongering Palin is trying to incite.

It’s ignorant and it plays to uneducated ignorance. You’re in college now. Time to move on.

I asked because I’m from a small town and the hard-work thing probably only applies to your blue collar laborers. There are tons of kids with no jobs that drive around care-freely. Not to mention the fact that a higher proportion of us seem to amount to nothing. It’s almost like living in a white ghetto. The police in small towns seem to harass the denizens just as much as they do to citizens in the inner city. Be sure not to drive more than 10 over the speed limit next time you’re cruising through a small town or else you’re guaranteed a ticket lol.

Also about half my home friends got below a 1000 on the SAT and more than half failed the state mandated NYS regents math A and math B exams. Idiots, sheer idiots.

Pug -

Speak no more ill of Minnesota, or this will become personal.

Have you actually read anything by Al Franken, or do you have him interpreted to you by your big daddy, Bill O’Reilly?

Al Franken may have spent most of his career in comedy, but he is a highly educated and intelligent person who deserves a shot at the senate if people are willing to vote for him.

Technically, it is legally their choice, but I highly disapprove. I don’t feel I have to prove it any further than what’s out there about him.

Silly city.

Pug,

Would you vote for Bush if he could run again this year? If not, why?

"But we get more per buck with advanced technology. Yet people are ready to throw away the keys of the Presidency to Senator Government.

Please tell us which of these TV’s is manufactured in the US?

Care to guess how much it’d cost to make it here? Care to guess how much people’d be enjoying that luxury if it was built here? Take a lesson in free trade, capital inflow, specialization. We build/do things here that we do better in general.

Certainly, geographics, rising costs of outsourcing, our capable workforce, business-friendly environment are attracting some businesses, and other countries have their advantages too. How would our econmy be if it was closed up? And everyone’s elses too?

You know how great the economies of manufacturing powerhouses like Mexico and the Philippines, etc. are? Yup, they have enough jobs and wealth to still have poverty  Japan? Their economy is just booming right?

I mean, certainly a lot more people are getting it too, the doom and gloom is passing, people see, yeah their paychecks aren’t going as far in these tough times, but we’re still living good.

Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to the Republican Party. And before you classify me as a liberal hippie, pugfug, you should know that I’m a Republican.

John McCain had my full support until he picked this ■■■■■■■■ woman instead of someone like Romney who would actually know something about the economy. If he wanted a woman, he could’ve picked Kay Hutchison from Texas. Or Condi Rice. Or any number of qualified female Republican officials. But no, he had to abandon his principles and pander to the religious fanatics who have highjacked the Republican party.

She is as ignorant and as uninformed as you can get. While the socialist-wannabe Obama is saying “there is not a red America or a blue America, but the United States of America,” we have that genius Palin taking about pro-American parts of the country. Brilliant. Just brilliant.

Well, I’m not one to judge and psychoanalyze forum “people”, you liberal hippie  I’ll leave my statement at that, as it’s clear that you aren’t up for argument, you’d rather rant.
