I want to transfer into Rutgers New Brunswick from my county college, but I’m afraid that my GPA isn’t high enough to get into the business school right away. If I’m only accepted into the School of Arts and Sciences, which major would I choose as my academic interest since you must choose a major, before I’d do a school to school transfer?
P.S. The closest thing to business in SAS is Economics, but even then the classes don’t really link up with those in RBS
I’m also a CC transfer (from MCC) and I was rejected into RBS-NB, accepted into SAS-NB and waiting for RBS-NWK. My GPA was 3.72 (50 credits). For this Fall 2016, it seems that the minimum GPA has been 3.8+
There is a SAS major code 006 “Business (Pre-business)” which is used for students wanting to transfer to RBS. http://sasundergrad.rutgers.edu/index.php/academics/requirements/list-of-majors-and-minors. Keep in mind that to transfer, you must complete 30 credits and there is no guarantee you will be accepted. There is a chance you may have to retake classes that you already took at the CC to complete this 30 credits requirement.
Since I pay the college from my own pocket and without loans, I’m not sure I’ll try that. I don’t want to start something and not being able to transfer later. I’m waiting for the RBS-NWK results to make my decision.
In SAS you can also take Business Administration as a minor.
