im thinking ahead about medical school
i was jw about the grades of current students in both schools. (grade inflation or no, etc)

it’s definitely easier to get a higher gpa in the college, but then med schools supposedly really like engineers

^yeah but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll give you any leeway (most med schools will hold engineers to the same standards as someone doing a bull***** major)

in any case, average gpa in the college is like a 3.2? whereas in engineering, according to a few years back’s daily pennsylvanian, it was a 2.8

ohh wow thanks for all the info.
are the sat scores about the same for both schools?

also, (biases aside, if possible) do you think Penn’s SAS would be a wiser choice for pre med than Cornell’s Human Ecology?

sure, given the wealth of strong research opportunities at penn med, whereas cornell med is all the way in the city

sat scores are higher for engineering, but not by a huge amount

on a side note, cornell is more expensive!

(i don’t have a big bias, i almost went to cornell and my brother goes to cornell)

^^^ really? i thought cornell woudl be cheaper since im a nys resident and human ecology is a contract college?

tenebrous, how did your brother feel abt the grading at cornell? and how about you for penn?

oh oh if you’re in-state and human ecology then it’ll be cheaper

he thinks it’s fair but he’s also in electrical engineering…

i was bioengineering and i thought it was just fine

hmmm i still cant decide which school i want to apply to ED (Penn SAS or Cornell Human Ecology)

Is the city vs. rural difference important to you?

not really, i live in nyc tho.
how is the city setting at penn? similar to nyc?

have you visited both campuses yet? i highly highly recommend a visit

im going to visit this week actually :)

bump bump :)
