SAS vs. wharton

i've always been wondering, since wharton's so prestigious and well known, does it overshadow other schools at penn such as SAS (in terms of job recuitment opportunities, internship opportunities...)? i want to major in econ. it's kinda related to business in a way. is it at a disadvantage even though penn's econ department is one of the tops in the nation...BECAUSE there's wharton...and usiness corps LOVE wharton lol.

i don't really want to go into business but jsut a thought

Wharton students get lots of opportunities, but I do not believe it hurts other related disciplines if you are good.

Wharton and SAS kids who want business jobs go through the same recruiting processes, get the same internships and jobs (just as the liberal arts students do at Harvard, Columbia, and every other Ivy without an undergrad business school)--it's all just a matter of how they get there.

If you want real overshadowing, worry about PENN Medicine, which is a bigger source of research funding than all the other Penn schools put together. But it's silly to worry about even that, as Penn has done a marvelous job of making its undergraduates the heart and soul of the University.
