so, I got a CR 630 math 730 WR 680 on my june sat.. (English is my second language)
do you think it is worth retaking to boost my math score or a 730 would be enough for MIT ??
btw I am applying for physics.

MIT has no required scores. However, the higher the better.

Students with an SAT I math score between 700 and 750 were admitted at a rate of 14% last year (which is to say, admitted at a rate marginally better than the overall rate).

[MIT Admissions: Admissions Statistics](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/admissions_statistics/index.shtml)

You are not admitted by major, you are admitted to the school as a whole.

I’m not worried about your math. Admissions likes to see 700s, though, so the other two are a little concerning.

See [this post](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/standardized_test_requirements/whats_the_big_deal_about_402.shtml) by Matt McGann where he says that all “high enough” scores are about the same and orders a girl with a 760 to not retake a test.

thanks a lot everyone!! that was really helpful…

piperXP, I was a little concerned about my 630 on CR, too. but everyone tells me that it is a good enough score for an ESL student…do you think it’s not? This was my second time taking it, and now I think maybe if I take it again, they would think I am too obsessive with my scores, right?

btw I have one more question would be really glad if you could answer that too
on the previous sat, I got CR 520 Math 680 writing 670 (was very sick that day and couldn’t get any sleep because of stress.)I studied a lot harder to get this one better. so do you think I should send both of the scores because admissions would like the improvement, or just send the better one because first one is bad?

Admissions will only use your best scores in each subsection (and for SAT IIs, your best scores on a math and a science test), regardless of other scores you may have.

Sending the lower scores will not have any effect on your admissions chances.

From the admissions website:

thanks for the help
so, if I take an sat physics math 2 and chemistry, they will only consider my math and the best of the two???

Yes. They’ll only consider your top math and top science scores.

From Matt, [here](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/standardized_test_requirements/testing_requirements_faq_1.shtml):
