Sat 1 vs. Sat 2

Hey guys,

I am new around here as one to post, but I have seen many messages so please bear with me. I am considering applying to a few IVY's such as UPenn & MIT but mostly otherwise, colleges in which I am on target. For the IVY's I am in a crunch situation:

SAT 1 scores: Critical Reading 680, Math 750, Writing 760. (All on one date)

SAT 2 scores: Math Level 2 800, Chemistry 680.

Obviously I can see that my Critical Reading & Chemistry scores are not good enough. I only have the January test date to retake one of them. Which one of them should I take to increase my chances of entering the IVY's. Keep in mind that I want to apply to an engineering college within an IVY.

Thank you guys in advance.

SAT 2 for sure. That 680 really blares at me and obviously there’s a reason engineering colleges request a math and science subject test.

It is hard to say. SAT1 at 2190 is marginal for Ivy’s & MIT. Chem at 680 is also far below average. Nevertheless, some schools only recommend SAT2 while SAT1 (or ACT) is essential. You probably want to improve your SAT1 for better chances at those schools. Just improving SAT2 perhaps may not help your chance at the first reader review. Honestly, you should aim at CR+M at 1500+ for these top schools.
Practically, you should find a few match schools. Ivys and MIT are reach for you.

Well, I got differing answers here lol. Arghhh. I guess I’ll repost to see what others say. No disrespect meant to you two, but this has confused me more than before.
