SAT #18 Math Question Help!

Hey guys!

I need help with this math question! The link directs you the screenshot I took of the question so it will be easier for you guys to see. As you can see, it says png so it wont direct you to anywhere else! Thank you!

<a href="http://puu.sh/3A4Ac.png%5B/url%5D">http://puu.sh/3A4Ac.png</a></p>

Is the answer A?

(im not really sure on this one)

The Answer is A. How did you get it?

Idk if this is the correct logic but since s is proportional directly to t (formula tells us that) substitute the s in the first equation with t and u get A.

Is this from a real CB test?

@withtheflow Yes it is! January 2012 SAT Administered Test Question

Variable1 = constant x variable2 means that they are directly proportional.

So if p = ks and s = nt then p = k x n x t. But if k and n are constants, then so is k x n.

So that means that p = constant x t which makes them directly proportional.

Or you can just think about it: if thing1 is directly proportional to thing 2 and thing 2 is directly proportional to thing 3, then thing 1 is also directly proportional to thing 3.
