This test is about 2.5 months away
What books do you guys recommend for this test?
I’m using Barron’s to review material, and then PR to review what I learned from Barron’s.
Anyone think this will work? Aiming for 750+
@PartyNextDoor I think that should work. My friend studied only PR and got 700 then retook it studying Barrons and got 750.
@fifteenpapers Awesome! What practice tests are you gonna use?
@PartyNextDoor I think I’ll use Barrons and PR if I have time.
Do you guys know whether or not it matters if you take E or M?
Take the one you feel more comfortable with
Have all of you taken AP Bio? My son is taking AP Bio this upcoming year, which is his senior year and plans on studying Barron’s ans PR
I took the AP Bio test this year coming off of Honors Biology, but I studied with Barrons. PR is not helpful at all, the practice tests in Barrons are much more similar to the ones on the test @Mysonsdad
Oops, I meant to say that he is taking the SAT Bio test in October and plans on studying using Barron’s and PR, but he is taking AP Bio this year, his senior year. He is hoping reviewing those two books and then 2 months of AP Bio will be enough to get into the mid 700’s.
@Mysonsdad I’m planning on retaking the test in October. I got 640 on the Molecular section, but that was due to a simple error of mine (which was answering every single question). Your son should choose the section that he is comfortable with and remember a prep book is not a textbook, and you’ll see errors on those books. I remember getting a question right even though it was wrong, so be cautious. Also, Barron’s is great if you have the time and dedication but try using the book alongside with a textbook (ask your child’s school if he can borrow the “advanced” biology textbook, which I’m sure they’ll let him). From my year (only late Freshman take this test) the highest was 730 for M and 700 for E. But that was just with honors Biology.
So we have about a month left. How are you guys studying?
I’m going to cram during the last two weeks honestly. I’m going to review the book and study on the parts that I don’t do well on and review the parts I do know (very briefly). I think using a textbook would be better time and taking practice tests would be enough.
I’m using pr
I’ve been doing practice in Barrons, Princeton and Kaplan and received around low 700’s on the tests. Sometimes I may hit some 600’s in them…I feel kind of nervous for them. Who here didn’t already take AP Biology or is currently taking it now?
I’m taking it right now and took the test before. @1618dz
Barron’s is harder, so if you are doing good (like 650+) you’re good. But I’m not prepping right now as I forget things very quickly.
Where do u guys find practice tests? I looked for hours and didn’t find any for some reason. Fml…
I was only able to find some in books or on a my max score pdf for Biology. Otherwise, I would just review everything.
