SAT 2 Biology is in May and June ... my brother's 9th grade teacher recommends May because she told him the information would be fresh.

I asked him if my brother agreed and he said yes.

Do you guys agree? Also do you think the June test would be harder than the May test because more people would want the "extra time?

Study tips question:
I bought him the Kaplan SAT2 Review book. I told him to go through the chapters starting today, for like 30 minutes a day unless he has a test the next day. So then the week or week and a half before the exam, he can do all the review questions, practice tests, and more practice tests from the library of other review books.

Is that a good strategy?

Also, are there any REAL SAT2 backtests? or just practice ones?

Is he taking AP Biology?

Sounds to me like regular bio...

Although I think AP Bio would help, I did very well on the SAT II Bio having taking honors bio, a half semester of AP Bio, and Kaplan's prep book.

However, for your brother, if he is using the Kaplan book (which is a great idea and the best book) he might want to consider taking it in June. After all, studying from the books and hopefully from class notes and stuff will KEEP the information fresh in his mind, and waiting until June would give him more time to study. But your current strategy works well also, I guess it comes down to his ability to retain information.

There are two books with real SATs. Both are collegeboard books. One is a book that has one practice test for every SAT II:

And then there's a Biology one that has two Bio tests:
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0874476933/sr=8-1/qid=1143389519/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-4139824-4838429?%5Fencoding=UTF8%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0874476933/sr=8-1/qid=1143389519/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-4139824-4838429?%5Fencoding=UTF8</a></p>

Good luck to your brother, I hope this helped.

I took the SAT II Bio in 9th grade and regretted it. If he's able to read through and absorb the review book, it's probably fine. But if he's a slacker like me, don't do the Bio without taking AP.

Which is easier? M or E?

Well, people say that E is harder, but the tests should be about the same level.
