Hi i received a 710 on the biology molecular section SAT 2 for June of 2005. i thought i did really well, and expected a 780 and up. i dont know what happened. i decided to let it pass, until i learned that my friend asked for a handscoring request himself. he managed to raise his score from a 650 to a 700! wow i was so surprised. so i sent a handscore request myself today. i really hope i got over a 780. i really thought i did much better. i hope i was right. does anyone have the same problem? and also, im scared that my score might get lower. im sure it wont though. anyway, can anyone give me some advice, or something that makes me feel better? lol. i really need some reassurance. thx a lot.

bump bump bump

Give it a shot...I am doing same thing for my math iic (i thought i hit a perfect score but ended up with low score)

Is there any deadline for doing this?

Also, has anyone heard any cases where the scores actually turned out to be LOWER than the initial report?

I think they give you some refund if they find an error in your score.

Only request hand score if you erased a lot and worried that the smudges may have affected the machine's scoring system.

Question(s):
1.Do you have to call collegeboard to request handscoring?
2.Have you heard of any instances where a student's score went down?
3.Is it too late to handscore the may exam?

bumping once.

bumping twice.

Answers:
1. No, the hand scoring request form was sent to you in the same mailing as your score report. If you dont have the form anymore, Im sure you could call Collegeboard and have them send one to you.
2. I have never heard of anyone who has actually tried hand scoring, so I cant offer you any anecdotal evidence either way.
3. No. You can have your answer document hand scored at any time within 5 months of the test date.

Has anyone actually had their score become lower?? I'm filling out the hand scoring paper at this moment, and am just a tad skeptical. Also, is it 30 dollars for each test to be handscored?

bumping again.

Yeah, 30 per test.

I'm sure there have been instances in which people's scores went down. It's bound to have happened. But if the change is due to inadequate erasing, then hopefully the answers you chose in the end were correct, and then your score will go up. The only way your score would go down would be if you had the right answer, erased it incompletely, and marked a wrong answer.
