SAT 2 Chem Discussion May 2 2009

yea i remember that question it was .25

I’m not sure but I think the .48 question was actually the 2X + 3Y = 4Z question, and wasn’t the answer .16?

I don’t remember either of these questions.

the 2x +3y = 4z question iim pretty sure was .16 because it says theres like .12 moles y and .10 moles z how many moles of z are produced. Limiting reagent so u know it only is .16 yea i got the same as you joeschmidt

yea i’m definitely -3, and i think -5 or -6, but i don’t remember all my answers, and apparently not all the questions either (what is .48?!)

that was the .48 question the one i posted above. The people (I think sorry if im wrong) just multiplied .12 x 4 and got .48 rather than taking into account mole ratios. That is the only problem I remember a .48 as a possible answer

I’m sure the curve will be better. It has to be. I know for a fact that many students will not have done well on the 6 questions on the test that had to do with descriptive chemistry (the one with glass, fertilizer, brass, ozone pollution, and I can’t remember the other two) and there were maybe one or two questions on descriptive chemistry in the Blue Book’s test. That alone will make the curve more generous.

I haven’t found a single person on here who feels as though they did exceptionally well. And come on, everyone. This is CC.

Hm, the six descriptive chemistry questions:

Glass - SiO2
Fertilizer - NH4NO3
Brass - Zinc
Galvanizing Steel - Zinc
Ozone pollution - fluorochlorocarbons
Semi-conductor - Ge, Germanium.

I missed galvanizing steel + brass =[

I definitely missed brass, because I wrote Iron. I don’t remember the other choices for the one about galvanizing steel, but I hope I wrote zinc. Ugh. I don’t even remember that question. I got all the others, though.

The brass and galvanizing steel were the same question.

o_o

I’m pretty sure they were separate questions.

I don’t remember the galvanizing steel one at all…

It was the first question I believe.

Actually, yes, they were the same question. We forgot the one about atmospheric pollution, which was either SO2 or SO3.

So it’s:

Glass: SiO2
Fertilizer: NH4NO3
Ozone destruction: CF2Cl2
Atmospheric pollution: SO2/SO3

Semi-conductor: Ge
Brass + galvanizing steel: Zn

yea it was the first question in its section and there was only two questions . the other question was the metalloid thats a good semiconductor(germanium)

i will admit
i did a lot of guessing

yea rocker it was so3

but i got the zinc and germanium one right
call it luck of the hindu XD=]

test wasnt tht badd
and i suckk at chemistry
the major thing i didnt kno was the electrochem

Galvanizing steel + brass was the same question?

I swear I read them as two separate questions…and I remember putting an answer for each.

blah x_o

Edit: The last question was #70 right? I would hate to have misbubbled…
