Sat 2 Chinese Prep Book Help!!!!

Hey, does anyone know where I could find a prep book or any online resources for sat 2 chinese? I can't seem to find one. Looking for one that is in simplified chinese and its extensive, because I'm looking to get an 800 on it. Thanks

Try borders or barnes and noble

IMO chinese is very hard to learn if you aren't a native speaker. Plus you gotta be good at listening (only once per year!!!)

To me the Chinese test is about the difficulty of a late 2nd/early 3rd grade chinese language class in china. I mean only for recognizing the characters. The actual fill-in-the-blank part is much easier if you're familiar with the language or speak it (at least somewhat) at home.

^ I mean I'm half chinese (though I speak a different dialect and I'm illiterate, but I'm currently taking chinese in school: taken for 2 years). I mean I just want to see the difficulty of it, I took the 9 practice questions they had on collegeboard and got them all correct. But I can't seem to find a prep book for it! Have you taken the test?

SAT subjects book by CB. Just one test tho. I plan to take it in Oct after a little review with my parents.

The practice one is really easy tho. And you get to see the PinYin so even if you don't recognize some characters you can "hear" it and that helps sometimes.

^ wait...on the REAL test you can't see all the pinyin???

im not even gonna worry about it xD im taking it in nov along with math 2; i lived in china for first 10 yrs of my life, and im still fluent, literate ,so im good.

voodoo_santa

Just take a look at the SATII preparation booklet. They have a sample test with 20 or so questions.
On the real test, the fill in the blank part has simplified, traditional, pinyin and this weird ass taiwanese thingy. So you are good no matter where you are from.
But the reading part has only the characters(simp&trad)
Beware of the listening part. You should familiarize yourself with it as much as you can because even some native speakers get chingar'd up by this puta madre if they are not used to it.

^ lmfao@chingar'd...I dont have a SATII prep booklet, and I dont want to spend like 25$ on it just for 1 test when it does even give you tips. Yeah...listening I guess will be the hardest part for me on this (although listening was the easiest for me on my school tests; in chinese class ofc).

Ren the Sat'er: wait I thought you couldn't take more than one sat2 on same day if you're taking a listening.

You don't pay for the booklet. It's a bookLET after all. It's available at your school as well as a pdf version on CB site.

And I know, my chingar-ness pwns CC's censorship of the f word

=)

^ oh the one with like 10 practice problems on it? i already have that lol its easy, but it doesn't give the listen though and thats the hard part (from what i've been hearing; im scared lol)

Just know that it's this rejoinder thingy where you have to choose the correct response to a sentence
Don't get distracted by the wrong answers they throw at you at first, stay focused at the original sentence.

Edit: There's this thick SAT subject test blue book you can get in the library. It has the CD in the cover(if you are fortunate).

dont take it if you are not a native speaker. the average score for chinese is 767.

It's not that bad. You don't necessarily HAVE to be a native...though being a native is a huge advantage
