SAT 2 help

So. Last may (Jr year) I took 2 SAT 2s (math 2c and us history) and did pretty poorly. 510 on history (YIKES!) and 580 on math 2. So obviously, I want to give them another shot. I want to take english literature, math 2c again, and physics in december of this year. Here’s my questions:

Is english literature worth studying for? (I can’t imagine that it’d be any different than SAT 1 reading, but you tell me.)

What is the most efficient way to study for these tests (especially math 2).

I will be taking physics next year, as a senior. However, I have considered majoring in engineering, so I want to take the physics sat 2. Is this a stupid idea, seeing as I will have only covered 3 months of physics material by december? Should I even bother taking this test? Would getting a physics book and going over it be of any use, or would it just lead to a failed effort? OR, should I just try to brush up on my chem (took it in 10th grade) and take that test?

and finally…

How much do the SATs even matter (specifically at UCs). A lot of colleges say “SAT IIs not required but recommended, or, SAT 2s not required but considered if submitted.” So, if I do poorly on these tests, should I submit them to these colleges so they can see I atleast did them, or should I not bother?

thanks!

for all three of the SAT II's you want to take, you should definitely study a lot/practice. buy a prep book for each one and go through every page thoroughly and take the practice tests in testing conditions. even though colleges say they are "recommended" you should still take them.
