thought it was hard, the first two passages were easy, but I felt pressed for time and the passages got harder as it went on. Especially the one about astrology that was really abstruse. Of course I didn't do nearly enough preperation, I didn't take a practice test, I looked at one and thought it looked like the ap which I got a 5 on, but we shall seesall

Yeah, the astrology one was really hard as was the poem about the bundles of grain.

hey i had a similar experience. no practice test. just a few questions on friday from a book in the library!

at first interpreted tht astrology thing totally differently! only after i got to the later questions did i realize i was on the wrong track..
also mis-bubbling quite a few answers after skipping one didn't help at all!! i had to erase and re-bubble..

anyway, it went well.. but it's hard to tell... i could usually narrow down to two choices, but did i pick the right one?

we'll know in two weeks

I just took the lit. and I thought it was as easy as hell. I didn't even know what it was on, I figured it would have mc questions on famous authors and literature periods-- I got a happy surprise. The Sheaves poem was a little confusing but otherwise it was like the Reading Comp section of the SAT. What did you get for the question about the shadow of the wind thing? it was like a) depicts the bending of the grain b) symbolizes the darkness at the end of the day c) shows that fall is coming by shorter hours and autumn winds (I chose this one)...and I can't remember the others...

i forgot but i don't think i picked 'c'!

and yea.. it was a lot like the reading comprehension section of SAT I!

and tht play, it was reprinted on the other side but i didn't know it was a reprint! for a moment i almost panicked seeing i had so much to read and so little time!! .. wut a relief

lol I did the same thing, and then I realized it was reprinted and thought my test was a screw up and nearly raised my hand, but then I read the note at the top.

Would the curve be more lenient?

I found the sonnet w. astrology difficult. Yeah, i did feel pressed for time and never got a chance to check my bubbles

I thought it was incredibly easy, which was a pleasant surprise. There were only 2 questions on the whole test that i was unsure of, but then i thought about them and i'm pretty sure i got them right...

what did you get for the sheaves poem on the shadow of the wind koala?

i thought lit was easy, the only thing that was weird was that charlotte passage. i didnt know if she was his sister or what (i decided she was a "recent acquaintance")

infectedmushroom - lol actually that was one of the questions i was a little hesitant on... i think i said something about how the wheat was rolling... which makes sense, because you can't see wind, only its "shadow," which is the evidence of the wind, or the rolling wheat.

SexyYetiBeast - i put that too, and i'm pretty sure it's right :p

it was obvious that she was a recent acquaintance by the way they introduced the passage, i.e. he offered her his chair and their conversation was clearly that of two strangers just shooting the breeze-- I thought that one was a give-away

Koala, I didn't put that one as my answer because the question included "in the larger context" and the wheat swaying in the breeze had nothing to do with the meaning so I chose the autumn one because it was clearly about the change of the fields and the wheat come fall. It was one of two I didn't know but I made an educated guess.

oh, i suppose that makes sense too.

damn, i hate ambiguous questions! :p

I thought the astrology and sheaves poem were way too confusing. I had no idea about the astrology one, got a couple and left the rest blank. The play was easy to read and understand but i thought the questions they asked were pretty ambigious and didnt give good choices. The rest of it was easy. How's the curve on this test?

I thought the test had some very difficult parts, especially the Astrology Sonnet and the Sheaves Poem. The Arthur-Charlotte had some tough questions as well, though not as much.

And this is coming from someone who got everything right in his Critical Reading of the SAT.

Usually with the CR of the SAT, I can come up with the answer without looking at the MC. Then I just look for the most accurate MC and bubble that in. But in the Lit test, I find myself having to justify (usually on a limb) various MC's in order to try and fit the choice as the answer to the question. A lot of the time, it's like trying to put a cube into a round hole.

i thought sheaves was relatively easy, i mean half the answers were things like "the girls stole the sheaves", which makes no sense at all. that passage about how the author remembered the last time he/she saw his mom, that was intense (best passage in the whole test).

can someone please tell me what the curve is like on the sat II lit? i just took it yesterday and am like 99% sure i ****ed it up. i ended up skipping like 8. im pretty sure that im gonna sign up for the late registration and take it again in nov. if i did pretty badly but improve in nov will the oct one not be taken into account?
