Hello. I am looking for a good sat 2 math 2c book to prep for the october sat 2.Do you guys have anything recommendations? I would really appreciate it. I know there have probably been other threads on this subject, but i haven't been able to find any. Sorry, but please help me out. thank you!!

Check out "SAT II Math For Dummies" by Scott Hatch

I like the PR book. It's clear and concise.

:)

I liked the PR book also. Kaplan was a bit easy. Barron was waaaay over the top. And I have this other book by this weird Russian guy from amazon.com... despite the good reviews, don't get it. Lots and LOTS of errors.

what Russian guy?

any other suggestions?

HE'S TURKISH. and the book is 10 realistic math level II tests.
Ruseyn Melani is his name. the book is the best. 800 here.

Barrons is hard, but it's good. Don't get down if you get bad scores on the practice tests in it, but do enter the programs into your calculator. It overprepares you, but you're almost guaranteed an 800 if you can get 650 on the barrons tests.

@evanescenteuphoria,

not the 15 realistic math level test???

Or is that one bad?

I was looking at the barron's and it looks too convoluted and easy to study. However, I looked at Princeton Review, arco, and Dummies and they look better organized, but i don't know if they are going to prepare me enough. Any suggestions on these books? please reply. thank you .
i also looked in borders and they don't have the rusan maylani books. Where do i buy his books?

I heard that Barron's prep book wastes your time on irrelevant topics that won't be covered on the actual test. For those who used Barron's, can you please tell us what "irrelevant stuff" to ignore? Thanks in advance.

Is Sparknotes Good? I Heard From A Few Friends That It Is Good, But It's Hard To Find It In Stores. Luckily I Have A Friend That Has It. Any Suggestions? I Would Really Appreciate Your Help. Thank You.!

Well...LegendoftheWarrior, there's technically no such thing as wasting your time on math, it's all good to know...Barron's gives you a more solid grounding; I don't know that you can simply ignore chapters. What I do know is that if you go through Barron's, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you take the actual test.

Alexinorbit, two suggestions. First, Sparknotes can be found online at amazon.com easily enough. Second, Don't Type Like This.

Deference

10 and 15. both are good. 15 has solutions also.

Barrons is like wearing a drag suit for swimming...when you're prepping and practicing it's hard but come the real thing, it'll be pleasantly easier.

Very crafty, zantedeschia.

Very nice analogy there, zantedeschia. :)

for me, sparknotes was a life saver (800). sparknotes + sparknotes 5 more tests

I heard that the PR SAT II math was too easy compared to the real SAT II Math IIc test. Is this true? How closely does PR reflect actual SAT II questions?

I never heard anyone else recommend SAT II Math For Dummies. Who else out there likes this book?
