i completely forgot about that one… ^
i think i got 1…but i could be totally imagining that.

Haha, I used the solver on my TI-89 and got 11/29.

wait so was the f(100)=1, thats what i seem to be getting as the general consensus…

I got 11/29 for the y/(2x-y)
x = 20y - 10x
11x = 20y
x = 20y/11

Substitute for x in the 2nd equation:
y / [ (40y/11) - y]
y / (29y/11)
11/29

OH it was that one.
jk i got 11/29 too.
i think they were all fractions so i don’t know why i said i got 1!

OMG I’m so mad at myself. I spent forever trying to figure that 11/29 out and then realized all I had to do (the easiest way too) was to plug in a number for 1 of the variables and then solve for the other one.

wow. that calculator is awesome. I didn’t even think about it because I had no intentions of solving a system of equations lol.

I substituted by hand and then I put the resulting equation into the 89.

what was the one , early in the test , something like f(x)=2x-k , g(x)=k, f(g(x))=… solve g(x)

@ natim1

If you decided to plug in a number, you most likely would have gotten teh wrong answer

ti-89’s ftw!

i think it was like f(x)= g(x) +1?

Was the 11/29 one question 45 maybe? I’m hoping it was that because I know I omitted that and my bubbling might have been screwed up if it wasn’t in the 40s

@ Jenovaside - g(x) = 2.

11/29 one was 28 I think.

^ I think I got 2 for that question also.

not that one, was another question, 11 i think, mabe 14

oh jk. that was a different equation with f(x) and g(x).
i got 2 for that one also. ^_^

i think the 11/29 one was in the 30s?

TI-89 FTMFW!

Yeah. I got g(x)+1 too.

Guys, can the machines that score the tests distingusih between an erased bubble and a filled in bubble 100% of the time?

I had many erased bubbles and it would be a shame to have points taken of for questions that were answered correctly : (

can someone consolidate?

I think the machine can (probably picks the one that is darker or something). I had a bubbling problem and ended up erasing a lot last year on SAT Chem and still got a 780.
