Is there any released information on the average SAT 2 for students accepted to Columbia? If not, I would be very grateful if any accepted students could post their scores :)

Math II - 800
Latin - 800
Biology M - 790
French - 780
Math I - 770

^ Those clearly aren’t anywhere close to the averages.

If I had to guess…
750 - 800 33 percent
700 - 740 25 percent
650 - 690 20 percent
600 - 640 15 percent
550 - 590 5 percent
< 550 2 percent

I doubt that many had scores in the low 600’s.

Math II: 800
U.S. History: 800
World History: 790
Literature: 750
Chemistry: 730

kwu, those were my scores. I guess my SATs made up for my lackluster ECs. But I don’t think 7% of those accepted had scores of under 600.

Math II: 800
Physics: 800
Chemistry: 800
Chinese w/listening: 800
French w/o listening: 740

How about we stop guessing and just provide a link stating these scores; thats if anyone can find it.

The posted scores sure are intimidating, but I appreciate the responses. Is it common to submit 5 subjects tests at all (let alone 5 subject tests that are between 780-800)?

No, it’s uncommon.

One is only required to submit two Subject Tests.

true. the only ones that posted are ones that wanted to show off sorry.

I would still recommend 3 though. just because other schools might need 3.

I will have 3, but I doubt they will all be 800’s like some of the amazing applicants above :)

lol, those people who took so many just wasted their time

I’m extremely weak in the are of math, so I was wondering wold it be fine to submit only humanities courses like Literature and US History? Should I try to do a science course in place of one or the other?

ThePerson1, I don’t think it is a waste of time to learn more than what is sometimes required. Plus, for my first 3 subject tests, I hardly studies, so I don’t see how it’s a waste of my time.

Charlie don’t you worry, not everyone accepted at Columbia has perfect SAT II scores.
I had to take 5 subject tests; these were the scores:
Literature-590
US History-490, yeah I know… but I’m dominican so I guess they took that in account
Math I and Math II- 620 and 600 respectively
Spanish-790

I didn’t want to do a lot of preparation, so I wrote Subject Tests in Literature, World History, and French, and things worked out fine for me.

And to those worried about scores, the standardized tests aren’t very important in the admissions process, relatively speaking.

So If I only have a 630 in Lit and a 750 in USH I should be fine? Or Should I retake Lit again before ED?

^take lit again, that score isn’t high

Math II 800, Chem 740, Physics 780
