SAT 2 scores.. do they matter?

I just did not have time to take SATII tests.

So I had very limited college choices.

Yet, SAT2 scores for few colleges are just recommended or optional.

If i did not send my SAT2 scores to universities where SAT2 scores are recommneded, will it affect my application significantly?

Chance me please if you can.

I have 2220(superscore) for SAT1 -Math 780 Writing 750 Critical Reading 690

and 3.9 GPA(unweighted).

My school does not have any AP, but I take most rigorous courses.

Don’t worry about SATII tests. Many of the people I know never took SATII exams or did not submit them to Wash U. Granted, this was three years ago, and Wash U may have changed what they look for in applications. I doubt that not having SATII scores will affect your chances, though.

Based on your stats, I would say you have a good chance of getting in. You have tons of ECs, and your SAT scores are competitive.

My son is currently a freshman at Wash U and did not submit his SATII scores at all. His SATI composite score was 2220, exactly the same as yours. He did not take the ACT either.

since they weren’t required, it wouldn’t change your app a lot. Personally, I think the SAT II is the college board’s way to make some extra money, I mean why bother making you take another test that’s pretty much the same as AP? A lot of my teachers in the past also agreed with me, and maybe the washu admissions office also concurs

Well yes, but eliminating the SAT II requirement also has the benefit of attracting more applications than anything else.

Not having any SAT II will not be penalized since they do not have it as a requirement. It’s actually better not to send SAT IIs at all than having a few sent that are mediocre.
