SAT 2 Scores for UCs (what minimum score transfers?)

What SAT 2 scores for specifically Lit and US history transfer for credit at the UCs? If not for credit, what scores are ideal to send (i.e. is below a 700 worth sending)?

SAT 2 scores do not give you college credit. They can either be used to fulfill one of the a-g course requirements or to enhance your UC application. Anything over 700 will enhance your application but since they are not required but recommended, some campuses state that a low SAT 2 score will not hurt your chances. Much will depend upon your intended major and the competitiveness of the major and school. My son had a SAT 2 World History score of 790 and SAT 2 Math 2 Score of 650 and submitted both. For elite schools, scores below 700 may hurt your chances.

I got a 690 on the Lit SAT 2 test, and I am applying to UC Berkeley and UC Davis for English. Would this score hurt my chances at either school?

For UC admissions, SAT subject test recommendations are listed at:

Otherwise, they may be used to fulfill some a-g requirements:

I know for UC Davis, since SAT 2 subject tests are not recommended, that these tests can only help not hurt your chances. For UCB, there are no recommended SAT 2 subject tests for a History major, so I would send it. One subject test will not impact your application significantly.
